This Saturday is Special

Its Toys For Tots week!  Saturday, October 19 is for the kids.  Help elevate our automotive enthusiast community for a great cause.  The cause can be even greater with your assistance.  While there is no admission to the event, please consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy.  Bring smiles to disadvantaged children in Baltimore County this holiday season.

After a few phone calls, it was been approved for 75 Army soldiers and civilians from Fort Meade to bring together donations from within their unit.  Their donations will arrive in Hunt Valley on Friday.  Continuing on the military front, the Marines oversee the Toys For Tots program.  If you have watched the news or have read online or print news over the last two weeks, you know that the country is enduring a government shutdown.  Even if the government’s lights return to full power today, the Marines leading Toys For Tots must receive funding approval in order to resume activities (such as deploying their Humvee and volunteers for Toys For Tots events).  Their ability to appear during the event should be known late in the week.  Thankfully, regardless of the government’s ruling, Gunnery Sergeant Howard’s crew will be able to pick-up our donations immediately after the event.

If this Saturday doesn’t fit into your schedule, NAPA Auto Parts on 10950 Gilroy Road in Cockeysville is serving as a toy drop-off location.  Simply bring your donation to the front desk and their employees will take care of the rest.  Having the ability to give and acting on that fact makes for one truly rewarding gift on all accounts.
